Terms applicable to IVC Text Messaging
ACCESSIBILITY - Text Messaging is accessible through the IVC Wireless Text Messaging service. The use of this service requires a two-way messaging-capable phone. When sending text messages, your telephone number will always be sent to the destination, even if you use Caller ID blocking options for voice calls.
MESSAGE RETENTION PERIOD - The system will attempt delivery of the message for up to 72 hours, from the date of receipt from IV Cellular. After 72 hours, messages not delivered will be automatically deleted. IV Cellular cannot guarantee that messages will be received. All messages sent but not received will be calculated in the text message plan as a sent message.
MESSAGE LENGTH - A 160-character limit applies and it includes the e-mail address indicated by the sender, the message content and, the subject callback number, if provided. All remaining characters will be deleted. Message length may vary depending on the length of the e-mail address and various system and equipment factors. Each time a message is over 160 characters it will break into two or more messages and will be billed for two or more messages depending on the length of the message. Please note that messages sent or received will not reduce the airtime allowances of your calling phone for enhanced usage of this service.
UNSOLICITED MESSAGES - IV Cellular reserves the right to block unsolicited messages, but you may receive unsolicited messages. IV Cellular also reserves the right to send unsolicited messages to any IVC customers with text messaging capable phones for notification and maintenance purposes as deemed necessary at no charge to the customer. In addition to other penalties provided by law, anyone using the IVC network to send unsolicited commercial messages, or SPAM, risks having their service terminated and/or their messages blocked.
MESSAGE SECURITY - Unintended parties may receive your message. IV Cellular is not responsible for messages that are lost or misdirected. Your telephone number and message may be intercepted by third parties without your or IV Cellular’s knowledge or permission. IV Cellular is not responsible for information sent using this messaging service.

Deductible
- $25.00 per claim for all cell phones valued below $125.
- $50.00 per claim for all cell phones valued between $125 and $300.
- $75.00 per claim for all cell phones valued over $300 or any type of PDA, Treo, etc.
- An additional $25 will be charged for any claim occurring within the first 90 days from activation date or if a contract is re-issued.
Limits
- Thirty (30) day waiting period as fraud preventative for any non-new phone or any WPP contract not associated with a new phone.
- New phones and the Wireless Protection Program are required to be activated at the same time.
- A maximum of $1000 will be paid by GWG: two repairs or one replacement in a contract cycle.
